Economic Impact Studies

MAC’s approach to aviation economic impact studies focuses on identifying the direct and indirect impacts of aviation by quantifying the employment, taxes, and capital expenditures generated by airport facilities.  MAC’s studies have also focused on the qualitative aspects of airport contributions, such as provision of critical services and aviation’s role in enticing business and commercial development.  In addition, MAC has developed comprehensive user-friendly spreadsheet models that assist airports in examining the economic impacts of new air service at their airport.  Julie and Amy were involved with the development of the economic impact study for the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in 2007 and the West Virginia Public Port Authority in 2002.
